Read the situation

For a first race, choose local AI, DOWN rules, a short target and Easy difficulty. Repeat those settings before switching to UP. Changing target, direction and AI level together makes it difficult to tell whether your placement or the new rules caused the result.

Choose the safer move

RiNG is a race, so watching the opponent does not replace finishing your own target. If your board develops a buried gap, repair it while the stack is still low. Rushing another hard drop simply because the rival is ahead can make that repair longer.

Try it yourself

When moving to a player match, confirm the selected rules and target before readying. Room codes and invitations are ways to find the opponent, not different victory conditions. Keep the game open through the normal result screen; a disconnected or unfinished race is not a reliable time comparison.

Game Overview

RiNG turns the target-clear sprint into a head-to-head race. Player mode connects two browsers through quick match, the player list, an invitation or a six-digit room code. Local AI mode starts on the same device without waiting for another person.

Setup

Choose VS PLAYER or VS LOCAL AI first. Set a target from 10 to 100 lines in increments of ten. Online play offers QUICK MATCH, PLAYER LIST, CREATE and JOIN. A created room displays a six-digit code. AI play adds the choice between RiNT DOWN and RiSE UP plus Easy, Normal, Hard or Extreme difficulty.

Starting a Race

  1. Choose a rival or local AI and configure the target.
  2. For online play, join the same room and let both players become ready.
  3. For AI play, select the rule and level.
  4. Use Q or the large start control.
  5. After the three-second countdown, clear the target before the other board.

Controls by Rule

Win and Failure

The first racer to reach the selected cleared-line target wins. If one board reaches game over before completing it, the rival wins. In local AI play the game compares the player and AI finish state. A rival disconnect during an online race cancels that match rather than silently awarding normal progress.

Rematch Flow

After an online result, both sides can express readiness for another race. The room host resets the shared match state and the guest readies for the next start. The countdown begins again only from a clean race state, so the previous board and result do not carry into the rematch.

Race Tips

  • Select a familiar direction before increasing AI difficulty.
  • Watch your remaining lines, not every movement on the rival board.
  • A low, reliable stack often beats a risky recovery.
  • In a short 10-line race, one blocked gap can decide the finish.
  • Use the same target for repeated AI practice.

What Makes RiNG Different?

RiNG has no garbage attack system; both racers solve their own target and compare progress. This separates it from FiTE, where line clears can directly pressure opponents. It also offers RiSE rules inside a race, making reversed movement a competitive option instead of a solo record only.

T.T.RING FAQ

Can I play without another online player?

Yes. Local AI supports four difficulty levels and either RiNT DOWN or RiSE UP rules.

How do I find a player?

Use quick matching, open the player list, accept an invitation, or share a six-digit room code.

What happens if the rival disconnects?

The online match is cancelled so the room can return to a valid waiting state.

Are attacks sent between boards?

No. RiNG is a progress race; direct line attacks belong to FiTE.
